For my OW dives, last summer (PADI), our first dive was just a get comfortable and get used to being in something other than a pool dive. Dives 2 & 3 contained the majority of skill tests. And dive 4 was just to finish up on whatever was missed and gave the students some additional time to just play in the water.

Just remember to RELAX! When you are relaxed, the skills are much easier to do. Trust me on this one.

Good luck and have fun,
David

CRAZYBOBC:
I just finished my PADI referral course, did this in NY (Long Island) Planning the 4 open water dives in Aruba. What can I expect. Do I have only one shot to perform all skills? Will they work with me if I need it. Does the referral usually gaurantee certification. Really just want to know what to expect.

Everything you did in the pool, but it's supposed to be without instructor assistance. Hopefully, you won't be on your knees either.
