Well... I'm talking flatter under water (meaning less drag.) But if you are talking about folding it up for travel you can probably use your imagination: a folded bladderless wing would be thinner by the thickness of a folded bladder.
 
Well... some folks think that there is an added layer of protection... while others think that there is merely a separation between the layer of protection and the air membrane that would allow sand, ect. to get between the two and wear a hole in the later.

Which is the case is up for debate I suppose. Your call.
