In my mind, the best reason to buy an Ikelite housing is to use Ikelite strobes hardwired for TTL. If you aren't planning to do that (or camera doesn't have a hotshoe, like yours does) then other housings may be a better choice. I've only ever used Ikelite, and probably won't switch anytime soon because I like having the flexible storbe options.

I have just replaced my Olympus C-8080 camera with a Canon Xsi and have also been reviewing underwater housings. While I haven't purchased one yet, I have weeded my choices to Watershot, Sea and Sea, and Patima which have similar housing prices to the Ikelite. I eliminated Ikelite because I wanted to use a fiber optic connection to my Inon strobe for TTL and because of its larger size. I am leaning strongly to the Watershot as soon as I have money available. You can find info on it at Home and DEMA 2008: Watershot :: Wetpixel.com.
