What pressure gauge is the one to have?

the OMS gauge. Several of my diving friends have joked that if they ever have need for a hammer on a dive they will ask to borrow it. The thing is simply built tough, and I find it very easy to read quickly as well (I have the normal sized gauge, not the mini).

Look at the Uwatec master diver SPG. Expensive, but it's the most precise, easiest to read gauge I've seen. Markings are in 50 psi increments. Face is luminous/glows in the dark. comes with a boot, but can be easily popped off if your heart desires.

I'm not sure if EE is still selling these, but it's worth calling an asking. If they aren't selling them, they may know who is.

I used to have a Scubapro MiniVIP2 which was nice and small but I dive with contacts which makes it a bit hard to focus on things real close and the numbers were not so easy to read. I now dive with a Mares Mission Brass SPG and Depth console. I like it cause it gives me instant temp info as well. On a short, DIR length hose it works really well. This unit is a bit bulkier but not significantly bigger.

My vote is with suunto.

It has survived going from -30c into water 3.5c. and back again, just to repeat the cycle 1 hr. later.

Nice clear easy to read dial, black print on white dial, great night illumination, and accurate.

In short, reliable and user friendly.
