Well I finally was gonna take the leap and service my own regs but scubatools is shutting down making servicing scubapro regs almost impossible. Should I sell all 6 first stages and all 6 seconds and buy dive rite regs so I can service them myself or pay to have the regs serviced properly. Its hard enough to find parts kits for scubapro and now the tools are no more.

What regs do you have? You might be surprised at how many specialized tools you can do without. AWAP is a really good source of information about that; he made his own version of the SP multi tool and yoke nut sockets. The bullet tool is probably not too tough to make, and the bushing tools would be pretty easy. The o-ring picks are very handy, but I think dive rite express is selling some, and I'm sure you could find something that would work fine that's made for other applications. You can buy an IP gauge lots of places.

I already own an IP gauge but I have 4 mk17 DIN, 1 mk17 Yoke thats gonna become DIN, 1 mk25 yoke that I might just sell, 5 S600's and 1 R190 (which could get sold too).

I might sell them all and switch to dive rite regs but I just got most of these this past summer.

I think you have another option that hasn't been mentioned... take a course from Scuba Pro and become a certified reg tec. You will then be able to get the tools directly from SP.

I have tried that route but you have to have shop affiliation and my most local LDS that sells scubapro is a by the books kinda guy and wont allow me to. If you know of a way please let me know.

Ah crap! I didn't know scubatools was closing. They were a nice source tools, especially for a regular diver.

If you rotate the use of all of the reg sets you have now, take good care of them and store them properly, it will be a long time before you will need any of them serviced. If you must stick to the annual service rule to get free parts, then your options are more limited. I would start digging around (like you are doing now) and try to find or make as many tools as possible.

If you find some tools for the MK17, please let me know. I only have the multi-tool, IP gauge and O-ring picks right now.

What sort of specialty tools do you need to service the Mk17?
