What kind of strobe to get with Canon A570is + Ikelite housing

I just got an Ikelite AF35 for use with my Canon A-640.. above water tests look great. underwater tests this weekend ...

Will report.. more power would be nice but, i like the compact set up and i have had years of good support from ikelite

I have a Canon G-9 with the Canon housing. I was considering the AF35 as a first strobe. According to that chart the AF-35 is not compatible with the G9? Can someone explain why that is? Or does "Use Auto Flash AF35 - NO" mean something different?
