This is probably the wrong forum, but does anybody know what this is? The actual dimension shown is about 3 inches.

I think it might be a well encrusted Pink Abalone. They can be found from Northern Cal to Mexico, are typically 4" or smaller, though they can grow to 7" and the shells are very corrugated with a corrugated or very wavy edge.
 
Larry that's kinda what I thought. I saw several of them in Morro Bay earlier this week. But it's been so long since I've seen an abalone in California I didn't want to jump to conclusions without getting some other opinions. If this is an ab, which I think it is, it's also the smallest one I have ever seen. Thanks for the help.
