what kind do you have?

I rinse my fins (I have Tusa TriEx) and then when they are dry just put them back in my boat bag so they are already for my next dive. Some keep the plastic thingys in them that came in the packaging but I personally don't.

I also have an old pair of Tusa Imprex fins that I have the Spring straps on, if you don't use those yet think about getting a set. they are the bomb!

What's with storing fins? You should be diving and never have time to store them. ;)
I store mine in my gear bag in the fin pockets most of the time. Between pool sessions after I rinse I will store them vertical with the blade up. Gives me a place to hang my mask. All my spare fins are stored laying flat. Others will store them on hangers by the strap. Some of mine have those funky foot pocket 'formers' still in them and some don't. :11:

As for straps I suggest taking one into the LDS and compare what they have to what you have. I have found some replacements are quite thick compared to mine. They would still work but you may have a harder time threading them or adjusting them. Better yet, buy some spring straps. I haven't had one of those break yet. Then you can use the old ones as spares.

I have the AA split fins

AA?

Just rinse and store flat (laying down) either in a tote, your bag or somewhere out of the way would be my suggestion.

I have old school IST Jet fins... personal oppinion...
If you have rubber heel straps and what to buy backups.

Just get heel springs and you can put the old rubber straps and hardware in your save a dive kit instead... then once you realise you'll never need spairs again, toss'm.

I hang my fins by the springs, I bent up an old wire hanger into a W sort of shape and just hang the fins once they are dry from rinsing after a dive trip. Make sure they are dry or your foot pockets might be holding water.

Just don't set them against the wall on the tips or they will take on a bend you probably don't want. When drying, mine sit in the tub/shower on the springs with the tilted against the wall tips up.

Store? As in put away for a period of time? You aren't diving enough...

That being said tp protect rubber rinse the salt off and dry, then store in a cool dry place without sunlight...

Like it says.

Also are the rubber straps on the back universal? I wanted to get some extras for a save a dive kit.

No, they are not. There are several different ways that straps attach to the fins, so make sure when buying replacements that you get the right kind.

As others have said though, spring straps are way better. More comfortable, easy on and off, and last way many years longer.
