Hi,

I have been diving for a few years now but my boyfriend just got certified. I am trying to plan a dive vacation. He has never been diving anywhere but Lake Travis. I was hoping someone could make some suggestions on the best location for a brand new diver to go for the first time.

Thanks

Susan

Florida Keys. Shallow reefs that are full of life and relatively easy to get to. Ft. Lauderdale is nice also, and you'll get some drift diving in there.

Ditto! Key Largo was our first dive destination after becoming certified and it was the perfect place to go. Long, shallow dives in warm water (we went in July). Can't wait to go back one of these days.

The Keys would also be the first place that comes to mind, but if he has made several dives in Lake Travis, he might be up for a little more diving. I would also recomend somewhere like Curacao where you have unlimited shore diving. and can really get in a lot of dives.

Copy on Key Largo....all the operations are good...but I'm particularly fond of Ocean Dives
