Someone said to me the other day that he was going to buy a rebreather and learn it himself, which I clarified to mean no training from a qualified instructor.

Being a new ccr diver this seemed a rather quick path to euthanize one’s self, and it got me thinking.

What is more dangerous

Rebreather diving with no training

Or cave diving with no training.

Welcome your thoughts and rationale.
I’m not endorsing either, I think both are insane,
Been diving a rebreather for almost 30 years, as my old instructor used to say "that thing will keel (his way of saying kill) you on dry land"... and he's right.

What is your point in posting this nonsense?

Are you feeling/thinking of what I am thinking/feeling?

OP's nickname is literally "eejit".
Make of that what you want.
Is you sayin' EE-JIT, a new user, follows the same construct as recently deposed "LI-ER"?

I was intrigued having started to get some experience in ccr mod 1 and realizing the technicalities of rebreather diving I was shocked someone could be so naive to the challenges and danger that such an activity would present.

As I contemplated this further i saw a video on someone untrained getting lost in a cave.

I thought I would ask People that knew more than me.

Apologies if this has upset anyone.

When two things are life-threateningly stupid, what is the point of asking which one is more stupid?
Don't be a troll.

EE-JIT sounds like idiot in Irish. 🇮🇪 St Patrick's day is tomorrow here. Just saying.
