Would you mind listing what is in your "save-a-dive" kit.

Also, could you rate what you think is most valuable in your situation within that kit?

In addition, how much do you take? Say, o-rings, one can take 3 of each kind or hundreds.

Basically, how do you strategize when assembling such a kit? What needs taking, what not..

When I'm driving to the destination, I take my whole kit, including all tools necessary to rebuild regs. I usually even take this on the boat with me (and have used it). I have enough to service all my equipment at least once in that kit. When flying I don't take anything, I just do a thorough inspection/check out of my gear prior to traveling.

O-rings and tools to change them. An extra first stage and regulator also come in handy if something major happens. A backup mask.
(and sometimes as many other spare parts as I can carry)

Mine's basic junk:

o-rings
zip ties
mask strap
fin strap
surgical tubing
mouthpiece
combo wrench
silicon

In a separate kit known as "wallet", is some cash to reward the DM for coming up with the stuff I didn't bring.

Among all the o-rings and tie wraps and basic tools is a complete octopus including computer and compass. So far have never used the whole thing but there is no question we can keep going through a reg failure.

Over and above all we are legally required to carry as a commercial vessel.

Antibiotics cream and pill,benadryl cream,cortisone cream,aspirin,naproxen,deodorant,razor,toothbrush
spare o-rings,batteries,christolube,silicone
backup reg set and computers, spare mask, spare SMBs,asst spare parts, clips etc
Sat phone

We have spares for the boat like alternator, starter, belts etc, spare electronics, spare compressor and engine oil and air filters for the compressor, hand tools and more.Keep in mind we operate up to 100 miles from port and our lives and income depend on being able to do our job, which is to dive all day spearfishing. We carry extra 02 for IWR along with what we carry to blend.

What do you use surgical tubing for?

Surgery...duh

My save a dive box is an old tackle box. I have: box/open end wrenches to fit every hose on each reg I use. Channel lock pliers, O-rings lots of'em, Oring pick, mask strap, fin strap, knife sheath straps. Velco strips dual sided, plastic ty-wraps, scissors, zipper lube, talc powder, a D-ring, 4 weight keepers, 50' of strong line. My weight per configuration chart answers the question," how much weight do I need with this/these tank(s) /suit/undergarments combo"? Book screws and SS washers, wing nuts for my STA and double bands, Chem lights AA batteries for my backup light. And anything else I think I might need if I'm going on a trip.
