Last weekend I had a bit of a twinge in my calf when walking my heavy kit along a pontoon (spoiler: it's OK now).

We'd completed a deep dive and were coming up the "beach" to drop our kit off where the busses pick up divers to take us back to our cars.

A guy was standing there and emptying his artificial legs of water. He'd also lost an arm -- he's a veteran.

Tears are welling in my eyes thinking about him now. Our first-world pathetic politics, narcissism, and victim culture. Then there's this guy.

Truly, sincerely humbled by that absolute can-do triumph over adversity.
