I have a sony dcr-trv10 camcorder, does someone stillmake a housing for it? I does have a spot for an LANC cable, although I really have no idea what this is or how it controls the camera.

Although I have been a diver for many years, I really have no experiance with underwater photo / video

Two I can think of - the TopDawg II and the Ocean Images Dolphin Pro - or possibly their Mini-TRV also. They both house current HDV cameras also since they're smaller than yours so you'd have an upgrade path if you decide to upgrade your camera later.

LANC is a protocol used to control camera functions while u/w. So you would plug your housing into your camera's LANC jack to control things like on/off, pause/record, zoom, maybe focus, photo mode, etc. depending on what your camera supports through the jack.

Since your camera is older, you may also want to consider one of the more basic housings by Aquatix, Atmo-Seal or Shellicam. All have greatly reduced control sets but are priced accordingly. There's also the Nemo - sold on eBay. Both it and the Shellicam are seal n' go housings with no controls. Both are sub-$200 afaik.

All housing options are here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/un...using-manufacturers-list-updated-04-09-a.html
