What got you hooked onto scuba? Do you even remember your first dive or any milestone dives that make it just that much more fun?
for me i've always loved the sea and been fascinated by fish so no surprise there. On my first dive I was completely awestruck that i could get so close to the fish and see so many different ones. What really had me was when the instructor dug up a majestic snake eel. However, my milestone 100th dive was great even more memorable. Jumped right into a baitball of sardines being herded by jacks, snappers and even tarpon. went down to 130 ft to see whether the wall flattened out into sand like in the shallows. Then slowly made my ascent, spent 20 mins at 30 ft watching fish and turtles. Out of nowhere a school or juvenile Barracuda at least 20 (first time seen this) swim around us for a while. 10 mins at 15ft in the shallows then surfacing. upon reaching the boat I realized that one of the instructors had found a mask at 119 ft which turned out to be a mask that we had lost about 2 months before. All around great dive. Even makes up for the fact that my o ring blew at depth on the next dive requiring me to ascend and get a new one. Glad I didn't use that tank for the 130 ft dive!!
