In metric regions that sign often means 100 bar gas left.

Diving with metric gauges?

T sign is often 100 bar, closed fist (not against chest, that is low on air) is often 50 bar.

So T, Closed fist, 3 fingers = 180 bar left.

Possibly this?

When I give a briefing for a guided dive, I explain that a karate chop into the palm (above) is what I consider half a tank. The T sign is what I would consider the turn. Depending on the dive they could be the same thing, or quite a bit different.

As mentioned, this should be agreed on before the dive.

..and make sure divers are familiar with what instrument readings mean if they are used to diving using different units of measurement.

I know I haven't dived with a pressure gauge that shows PSI, I use gauges that read in bar.

I'm sure that all you folks leading dives check that any foreigners understand the significant of local units if they are using hire gear and that is also a good way of ensuring people agree on their signals ^^
