I wear the Speedo shorts (aka "Jammers") under my 3mm full. They are comfortable, don't bunch up, and are less "racey" than than traditional Speedos.

However, I do try to limit "public exposure" by very quickly donning board shorts over them when not in my wetsuit :amazed:

Best wishes.

Ditto. But I grew up in Huntington Beach then Ventura (as well as Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay) Surfing almost every day. Then I just wrapped a beach towel (on the beach) around my waist and changed right there. Still do if I forget my Jammers.

About two years ago I changed to nylon/lycra swim trunks (jammers)... Fit great, no bunching, no chaffing...

TYR Sport Male Jammer
Manufacturer Model No. RJAM1
Designed for racing and training, the TYR Jammer provides additional support and coverage while enhancing muscle compression. The Jammer features a non-slip, flat braided drawcord for a comfortable, secure fit. Front lined. 80% Nylon/ 20% Lycra

I got a pair of compression shorts at Dicks. No bunching, works well when I use my Henderson semi dry suit. That is a beast to get on.

hmmm

Speedos dont really have a liner.. Underwear dont have a liner.. so they seem similar.

I am one of those people that does not own underwear. Mainly because you dont need it ever.

So that being said, when I get into my wetsuit I either have to use a towel to drape over, or I show up wearing it.. Underneath, there is just me.. I have been known to wear a swimsuit but thats usually just when we are lacking towels and have activities before or after diving so I had to wear shorts to those..

Commando is the only way to go!

(If I am not wearing a wetsuit, I am diving in just shorts.. Usually no shirt.)

Having been swimmer since before I could walk I do not ever recall seeing as Speedo brand jammer, or competition suit that did not have a liner in the front if not fully lined. Most of the Under Armor type underwear guys are wearing are not lined, they are a single layer of fabric which is why the OP was getting the odd look. Some all out competition suits are unlined and even have vents to prevent air trapping. Those types would not be needed for scuba diving.

I am no where near 70 but even if I am 90 and still diving, it will be in a Speedo and if the prudes don't like it they can go elsewhere. I am not asking their permission. In fact, I will wear it without wetsuit. Though I do like the jammers and bordies for comfort when messing about the boat or playing in the water, but for serious swimming and actual use in the water a real swimsuit is the order of the day. Board shorts in a five mile swim would be like dragging a parachute. This phobia stuff is out of control.

Do you guys always wear your scuba uniform wetsuits and drysuits for every dive, good grief!

Nine out of ten collie dogs prefer poodle jackets but they don't wear a wetsuit.

When did people become such prudes, soon we will be back to wearing bloomers in this regressive post modern era:

I'm always naked under the wetsuit. I got good at changing into a wetsuit on the beach in cali for surfing everyday. Just put a towel around your waist.

I used to go diving with someone who was always naked under his suit, but I didn't know it at the time... he just used clever towel placement around his waist when changing.

Wet boxers do show a lot, but if you're comfy then just have the courtesy to cover up and minimize the show, and don't go running around with everything on display.

How do you guys and gals ever get out of the ocean,in swim suits.:shakehead:
:D
There should be a daytrip for this, just for fun.:rofl3:

BTW there is a part of the Netherlands, with the same "problem"
