Has anyone tried a Halcyon Infinity BC System?

Halcyon Infinity | Halcyon Dive Systems

How is it working for you?

What do you think of the Cinch Quick-adjustment system?

Did you use it for single or doubles?

What back plate steel or AL?

Do you use less weight than with your old BC?

What about trim, weighting, ease of use, balance etc.

Do you think it was worth the price?

Any comments?

Halcyon with Cinch works great!!!!!! Perfect to adjust once neoprene compresses, really easy and effortless to get in & out off drysuites too. I would suggest buying the 60lb Evolve wing, great for doubles, but can also be used for singles. Flops about a bit but still works great. I opted for the steel (use less weights), ALI is great if you travel a lot. Trim pockets can be added to custom your buoyancy preferences. I found the Halcyon to be very expen$$$$$ive. Best system on the market IMO.

Huh? One size fits all for doubles and single cylinder use? I don't think so. I agree it is the best system on the market though...

Did not say one size fits all. Said can be used with a single.

so, you are recommending that a 60 lb wing can be used with a single cylinder? Maybe I misunderstand...

That would result in a wing taco from hell and it would be a nightmare to vent...

Why is that?

In addition to componet and design quality the system has availiable the MC Storage Pak which removes one danglie (SMB) from one's kit and know you have the Cinch System available should it benefit your style of diving. Besides, if all other things are equal I am picking Halcyon for all major contribuitions of GUE to the sport...

GUE has done some major contributions to the sport but I question why that makes it worth paying the premium for the blue H on your rig, the storage pack is readily available from other manufacturers and stowing a SMB is pretty easily accomplished.

There are quite few manufacturers actually producing better quality gear for less money, in my opinion Halcyon has been too eager to chase the buck and quality has been lost in the process, why have they had so many recalls on their "superior" product line?

With me it basically comes down to trust and the fact that H is quick to announce a recall solidifies this position. To futher this point, check to see how much longer it took for Dive Rite to announce the same OPV spring recall. Are there other manufacture's who have utilized the same springs and have not announced a recall?

With regard to quality, harnesses and plates are rather standard leaving wings as the critical componet for analysis. Is there any evidence to support that H's wings are subpar or have failed in any greater numbers than other selections? Halcyon's entire manufacturing process is in house only 3 blocks away from Extreme Exposure Aquatic Center and GUE's office utilizing American labor and parts. No lead painted H's...

Lastly, Halcyon is very well represenated in the area and I strongly desired to support a LDS owner who I consider a friend...
