Hi there,

I would like to buy a small compressor.
I want to fill 4 12 liter tanks per week (232 bar)
Normally 2 tanks are filled together
A three-phase connection is available
How long can a Bauer Junior or an L&W 100E run at a stretch without a break to cool down?
In case it is necessary to fill several cylinders at a time
I once read that a Bauer Junior is designed for about 500 operating hours
Which compressor would you recommend and why?
I come from Germany so I think Bauer or L&W would be the best choice

Thanks

Faced with many similar options I chose wisely

OCEANUS

but with three phase if you are able to find a used MINI VERTICUS
perhaps with some friends you will never look back
on quietness of the machine alone

which I also chose

great summary thank you very much

in germany it is often said that the small compressors are not good and last a maximum of 500 hours and then the problems start

according to my research, one of the founders of l&w is an old developer from bauer . and he has supposedly eliminated a few weak points of the junior

the l&w 100 is supposed to be quieter

does your junior have plastic piston rings or metal ones? the current junior has plastic rings

but your experience encourages me to use a small compressor

Junior is a "single bottle fill and wait to cool" while Oceanus is continuous run (rated for a 2-bottle bank). Don't know about l&w...

Either way, one thing to know is the filter on the Bauer is way too small for any reasonable life. It has a rated cu-ft that is substantially cut short by adjustment factors related to temperature (published in their manual). Be prepared for many and costly filter changes or adding a bigger filter tower.

I repurposed my OEM filter to just do moisture, and added a bigger purification filter downstream

Others have done similar....
