I like other have some toruble equalizing so I force it. Instead of making a "hisss" sound which would be normal it makes a "squeek" sound when I force it . No pain, just different sound.
The day after I got home from my dives I wake up and I feel dizzy and kinda "sick like" as if the flu was coming down on me. I admit I totally ignored it. I let three weeks go by. I feel fine now but still am dizzy-like. The room does not actually ever spin, just just feels like it's going to. It just feels like motion sickness. I also have a loudish "crackle" sound in both ears whenever I swallow and some minor discomfort (not really pain, feel like pressure) in both ears that comes and goes at random.
OK, so yesterday I decide to finally go to the doc. It has been three weeks. I'm thinking I have a middle/inner ear infection and told them about the diving, etc expecting I would be receiving some antobiotics. They did not do much. They had some machine that from what I understand seems to be able to tell if there was water behind my ears. It spit out some line graph chart on a printer. He looks and say "Your ear are not GREAT but seem OK". He then looks in my ears and says the drums look fine.
He then proceeds to tell me he thinks I might have some fluid in my ear and that's causeing the dizzyness. He prescribes me some Zyrtec D, says that should dry them out and tells me to give it a few days.
I don't know about you, but I don't buy it. I have been taking this Zyrtec for two days and don't feel any better. Still just as dizzy. And if it was just fluid, why would I have some discomfort/pain in my ears? Why do my ears "crackle" each time I swallow? I don't know anythng but I think I know more than this guy. I personally still think I have a inner or middle ear infection.
How much longer should I try the Zyrtec D? Should I toss it and go get another opinion?
