That's true- but I normally wear a drysuit with some fairly thick undergarments. So, getting into a harness is a mobility challenge every tome. When I'm diving in a thin wetsuit or no wetsuit, the straps could be made of wet paper towels and it would still feel easier to get into. But mainly, I've found that if I'm using super stiff webbing without exposure protection it always finds a place to start sawing into my skin. I definitely don't use the softest webbing for my warm water harness. But I also wouldn't choose the stiffest webbing as the OP did.
ill switch it up to the standard , its only a few bucks i could always get another one i guess.

My webbing is the medium stiff, it holds it's shape well and I use the neoprene covers. They last forever, do not add any appreciable bulk and are comfortable in a rash guard and swimsuit. And the webbing holds it's shape forming a nice loop to assist entry and exit from the rig.

The medium stiff webbing came from both Piranha and DGX. It is probably similar to what the OP ordered. Just returned from two weeks in Roatan and mostly just wore a rash guard and swimsuit or sometimes a (1mm) Scubapro top and shorts. No damage to me or my clothing. Very comfortable. Standard Hog rigging, weight integrated, Oxy soft travel plate, VDH 18/23 wing, one inch crotch strap (soft webbing with QR). Two cam band trim pockets, two QR waist pockets. Three titanium D-rings. I prefer the standard nylon tank bands to metal, especially over those come apart finger/hand pinchers.
