Yeah, I don't do the strobe thing or the glow stick thing, either. But I have this bright orange wing . . .

I guess you could wear something other than black. I have an orange wing, I have various other equipments that are bright colors like orange and yellow. The all black ninja look may be slimming but it really is foolish in a world full of motor boats, low viz and jet skis. Reflective tapes and bright colors do increase visibility. If safety were really the big deal everybody makes of it then why wear all black? I know the answer---peer pressure--only strokes wear bright colors.

N <---taking strokery to new levels

Nemrod, are you calling me a stroke? My Rec Triox instructor didn't seem to think that. He just thought I was generally hopeless :D

I have my Atomic split fins with the nice shiny silver down the middle. People spot me easily. For that matter, the odd barracuda have taken a liking to them also.

I always tell my students to wear something bright and distinctive so they can be distinguished from other divers.

I bought my wife a pair of yellow twin jets for that purpose (as well as being a great fin). I have noticed that she is usually not the only one with them. I am also starting to see pink ones.
I have a "Waterproof" brand wetsuit that has mildly reflective grayish panels stitched into it in various places.

My Bare drysuit though is ninja-ish and I need to use one of the ideas suggested in this thread

No, TSandM, you cannot be the stroke, I am the stroke around here.

N, super strokery is my specialty

Note, buffoonery is not to be confused with strokery. Them's the rules I read.

Strokery is equipment mayhem with a purpose even if your the only one who sees and understands. Nonetheless serious and with purpose. Example, TSansdM's husband.

Bufoonery is when one has no purpose and therefore makes fun of everything by first making fun of themselves. Example, the guy in plaid tights a few posts back.

N, maximum strokery, minimum bafoonery

I have a set of double yellow and a set of double silver tanks and yellow fins, also my 10w Salvo....that should do it...

Mike

yellow suit (black with yellow bits actually), yellow fins, yellow mask, yellow tanks and thankfully my yellow snorkel brings me back safe from every dive... oh and just in case, a yellow safety sausage to wave but hopefully i wont ever need it

Red wing, reflective stripes on blue drysuit, shocking neon pink webbing on new backplate, searing yellow lift bag. I want to be seen on the surface in terms of boat diving.

Yellow Bio Fins and tank for local cold water, yellow stripe 3mm suit and gloves for travel to warmer waters. In the " 10' viz is a good day " Monterey Bay, often the only way my buddies can see me is my fins. Also the only way I know it's me in some pictures.

It does remind me of a tshirt I saw last week in Belize- One shark telling another while watching a pair of divers, " I hear the Yellow ones taste like chicken"
The white shark experts call it "yummy yellow" as it is a white sharks favorite color to attack. From my fishing time I can say it's a favorite of all fish.
Red wings to be seen? Think hard here guys, what color is red UW? Thats right! I knew you would get it, black.
Yellow is great as is pink.
When diving with different groups off the same boat or same area, try some yellow flagging ribbon on one ankle and one on each ankle for the DM. No one else does it.
For the surface I have a 6 foot 50 LB lift bag yellow on one side, orange on the other. I tell people it can be seen from space. I see someone else said the same thing. Orange turns dark in low light and is hard to see so I like the dual color. The most visable in all light is pink! Sorry, cant do a pink sausage thou.
Here is one last thought. Swap a fin with someone. Pink and yellow maybe? Different color fins will tell everyone it's you.
Catherine, fight it girl, you can do it. No camo suit!
