What do the stars represent?

I'm sure someone has asked this question before but I wasn't able to figure out how to find the answer using the search feature....under the name of a member is a box that says status.....in that box is 5 stars, some are "lit up" some are not....what is the purpose/function of this display?

Oh, Geeeeeze! It's right there in the FAQs! :shakehead

The stars reflect how much the member has donated to scubaboard. Five star members are entitled to certain benefits... like free travel year round to favorite dive destinations and other perks like that.

I see that you apparently haven't given much... better get out the check book!
