After using only PADI dive tables and taking a TDI Nitrox course (I know I should take GUE's Tech 1, but money is short this year) I just realized that not all dive tables are the same. So I was wondering what dive tables does GUE support? What are DIR divers using? Just wondering.

DecoPlanner software.. cutting their own tables,.. basically planning the dive, and diving the plan. also 120/20 rule for on the-fly no deco time calculations. You'll learn the 120/20 rule in DIR-F, while cutting the tables, I beleive, is done in Tech 1, as I assume.. I haven't takinen it yet. You will need, however, to take the the DIR-F class first, before the Tech 1.

I tok the DIR-F course last year. Don't seem to recall the "120/20 Rule" though. Can you refresh my memory as I am sure it was covered.

The 120 rule is no longer taught in DIR-F. We use GUE's table for Triox and 32. We do not use decoplanner for deco or ndl's. It's used as a verification tool. For deco, ratio deco is used with rules of thumbs. GUE does not support any tables that I know of.

huh? you said "We use GUE's table for Triox and 32" and then you said "GUE does not support any tables that I know of.".. can you clarify? I personally have never seen any GUE tables.. it certainly was not shown in two of my DIR-F classes that I took. I have not taken the tech classes.

Guess it was thrown in for free in my class then.

The DIR-F class use to teach the 120 rule but they took it out of the curriculum. Now they introduce it in Triox or the first part of Tech 1. Ok this should be more clear, GUE only supports GUE tables :D they are introduced in Triox or the first part of Tech 1.

Did this change in the last four weeks?

From what I know it changed about a year or so ago. It would be best if one of the instructors would chime in and verify it.
