Morg59... You are going to have an absolutely fantastic experience with 3P's. Both of you can forget about any hesitation and worries you may have. The private DM is a great call for the 1st day to provide that level of comfort. Perhaps your wife read my last review of 3P's that was re-worked from our second 2-week Coz trip with 3P's and put her at ease as did al the other reviews. What you will experience is exactly what I posted... The boat will probably have 1/3rd new/newer divers, 1/3 "experienced" divers, and 1/3 divers who have been diving since the beginning of time. As such, once you've completed your 1st day of diving with a private DM who is totally dedicated to you, your following dives without a private DM can also pretty much be spent with a "private DM" as the more experienced divers in the group will spread out a bit and do their own thing. That will leave you both with either Jorge or Edgar pretty much by yourselves. This is why I say newer divers can enjoy a private DM experience with 3P's just by getting on the boat and being honest with the DM's with regard to their level of experience. Also, on a boat such as 3P's with a max of 10 divers, do be sure to tell all the other divers on board that you have 18 dives and this trip will help take you to your goal of 50 dives by the end of the year. That will let all know that you are newer divers and everyone will be trying to help you with tips, advice, etc. as we all remember we all started with dive #1. On our last trip there was a newer diver who told all of us he only had a few dives logged and he was surfacing after 35 or 40 minutes when the more experienced divers were surfacing after 1HR+ bottom times. Some advice from all on board had him pushing 1HR bottom times the next day. One warning... Cozumel is going to spoil you and unless you are willing to travel much further and spend 4x as much it can't be matched. Have fun and be sure to share your experience with all of us! Wish we were diving with you but we have 47 weeks or so to go until we are back.
