Before becoming a scuba diver, I spend a lot of time thinking about becoming a scuba diver. Oh, I always did laps at the pool. And I played tennis at the club.

But, I always wanted to be a diver.

Finally.. when I was free to do what I wanted.. with the little money I had, I spent it on scuba, and became certified in 1997. Never played tennis again :winky:

Along the lines of what else do you do other then SCUBA, what did you do before you got hooked on SCUBA?

I wished I knew how to scuba dive.

Water skied and pulled lots of skiers.

lol texan... took me a little bit to get what you meant

I bowhunt, snowski, moutnain bike, camp, and play baseball. Add in scuba and college classes and my schedule is about full. I'd love to get into more hobbies, but on a college student's budget????

Surfing, sailing, powerboating, windsurfing, beach. It was a natural progression to diving. I was running out of new things to do in salt water. Well...not really... ;) Besides, like a lot of divers, I had dreamed of being a scuba diver most of my life.

An old boyfriend got me interested in snorkeling. I loved it. My current b/f suggested I try scuba, but I wasn't too sure. Went into it very slowly. I was hooked! I never snorkel anymore.

Lots of other hobbies along the way. Some have come & gone and some have stuck around for years.

Mountain biking was my passion before scuba, but my knees started to tell me to pick something else, and all the trails were getting way too crowded. I was getting bored of it anyway, and I loved snorkeling and the ocean, so I figured, why not?
