What do you plan on accomplishing in 2008?
Do you have any special dive trips planed?
Gear you plan on getting or trying out?
Courses you plan to take?
Other plans?

For me, I’m taking more family to Hawaii in July.
Surprising my niece’s son with a Discover Scuba Class while diving Kauai.
I also hope to videotape my lovely brides 100th dive!
Make the jump to HD Video.
Build my own housing.
Build my own DPV.
Dive with John Chatterton and Richie Kolher ( well it is a goal!)

Well....

It was suppose to be for the new year but instead it came as an early Christmas present.

I got my new D400 XTI and housing and strobes and all four lenses, Yup.... I am spoiled.

So now I just got to DIVE DIVE DIVE

I am still trying to get to PNG...none of my tribe will go.

but I may need to settle for Mozambique. I need to get over my machete fears, I have slayed the shark phobia.

My goal is to make JB get into photography. He thinks he baited and switched me, but he is in for a surprise.

My other goal is to apply myself to freediving. I'm trying to get in better aerobic shape these days so that I don't make someone's day unpleasant and I am starting to shoot more manually, but I think it is overrated on deep dives with one tank, due to the time involved to make all the changes and preview the shots.
So...I must force myself to learn shallow or topside. Discipline! ..I think it is called self-discipline! yea, I'll say my goal should be self discipline, in all areas.

Check, you do that very well.

well.........2007 goals were to go to Bonaire (check), California kelp diving (check) and somewhere in tropical Pacific (check, Palau). More than 50 dives (check, 53).

so my goals for 2008...........
Nekton liveaboard to Bahamas in April with a group of friends, and California with friends for 2-3 days of cold water kelp diving. It would be nice to get out to Pacific for a big trip again - Philippines, Indonesia, or Fiji in fall/winter but don't know if the $$$ will be there. Also I would like to upgrade my video rig this coming year, doubtful though due to $$$. Hope to do 50 dives again but I don't know if that will happen as work schedules look insane for whole summer.

My goals for the year will be to do cavern and intro to cave in the first couple of months of the year, and DIR-F when it gets a little less cold, or I get a drysuit. Trips, I will be in Mexico in July for a wedding for sure, and Florida in March. I'd like to get to Honduras as well and do some more local diving here. I want to make sure I dive at least once a month, even in the freezing months, and to do 100 dives for the year outside of my training dives.

My goal for 2008 is to DIVE LESS! Yes, I know... hard to believe an avid diver would want to dive less. However, I've been averaging over 300 dives a year recently and this coming year I want to focus more on producing new DVD's and cable TV episodes from the footage I've already shot. I figure 200 dives next year would be fine with me.

I'm currently researching the narration for my upcoming sharks and rays DVD and several cable TV episodes. I've already edited the footage for this new offering, as well as the footage for my DVD's and cable TV episodes on the wrasses and the echinoderms.

As for diving trips in 2008, I would like to go to the Red Sea where I have invitations from friends, a South American dive site and the Maldives or Mozambique. Of course what I;d like to do and what I can afford may be too vastly different things.

And I'd like to finally meet the ultimate dive buddy and perhaps even the future Ms. hyphen-Bushing. Yes, I'm ready to stop diving solo and try buddying up for a change!

TDI Intro to Tech is already booked for me. With the skills that I need I will pass that and move into Adv. Nitrox and Deco. I know I don't have to pass Intro to do Adv. Nitrox and Deco but if I'm not going to pass it then why take it.
Gear..just ordered an AL40 for deco bottle..THANKS DIVESPORTS.COM (Phil)
Figure that there will be a Great Lakes dive trip in the mess someplace.

Dive trip to the Great Lakes this summer. My wife thinks I have a girl friend in the Keys.:shakehead: Guess I need to find one in Michigan.:rofl3:

I have a dive trip to Wakatobi planned for October and I can't wait. It's my first purely for fun with friends overseas dive trip ever :) I might get to stay in Bali for about a week after it as some other friends are getting married 7 days after we are due to depart Wakatobi and it makes more sense to stay and dive than fly home, return to Bali and fly back again! But not sure I can take all that time yet, we shall see.

My main goal is to actually dive in 2008...2007 was my worst ever diving year, I won't hit 50 dives! And considering where I live and what I do for a living, that's pretty damned sad :(

Oh, and actually get out with the whalesharks more than twice during the season LOL
