All - I'm considering booking a trip to Bonaire from 4/12 to 4/19. There are decent Delta and United options. What are the chances that the flights be canceled?

Thank you,

JD

Very low, but always possible. Weather events in the Caribbean basin are unlikely in April and the rare aircraft mechanical problems usually result in delays and/or switching to alternate aircraft. Delta and United adherence to their schedules is usually fairly reliable. The schedule changes implemented by United this month are the first major changes to their Bonaire schedule in several years.

I've done the Delta run out of Atlanta a number of times and never had a problem.

We were going to Bonaire one summer in July. Flights were canceled through Dallas for an entire day due to storms. It was a total mess at the Phoenix airport because of that.
flights can be cancelled any month of the year for thunderstorms. April is one of the most likely months for severe storms in the Midwest and south.

I'm aware of occasional delays for the United and Delta flights to Bonaire, but have never heard of actual cancellations. They have passengers waiting on the other end for the return flight.
