Better check the facts first.
Virus does mutate and that is a FACT.
9 more Greek alphabets to go after omicron if they are all used. The last one is omega(not the watch).

High numbers of smokers are seen in many countries, not just in Indonesia.

“Indonesia has recorded 254 Omicron cases since mid-December, the majority of which displayed mild symptoms or were asymptomatic, according to Health Ministry reports.”

This has been updated. The visitor ban is gone, quarantine is 7 x 24 hours for intl arrivals, and 649 of 882 (73%) cases of omicron that was found are from international arrivals who were then briskly quarantined. It's not dire but of course not a walk in the park but much better than say US or UK....

A veteran local guide (been diving since early 90s) told me that you can dive Komodo year round - if it's a bad season for the south then a good season for the north or something like that. In essence - go anytime.

Omicron just started in Indonesia. In Jakarta the numbers are going up fast now and are doubling every two or three days. Looking at the US it is not a mild ilness, which is confirmed several times by the WHO. I very much wish you are right, but it could become much worse here than in the US or UK by less vaccination and less good healtcare.

The number is doubling but they are international arrivals in the airport in Jakarta (and they are in quarantine which is now very strict). That is if you look at the facts. So no, it's not "Indonesia".

Until today 325 registered local transmissions. As we know from all over the world, this will grow exponential and cannot be contained.
