I found this set with 1st stage, gauges, and a decent bc for $350.

It's a US Divers reg set...nothing fancy but it will get the job done. Budget another $ 100 - $ 125 ish for a routine 'annual' service on the regs. Can't comment on the BC, obviously.

Yeah, it's not for me, it's for my dad as a Christmas present but the BC looks to be alright. I've tried googling and I can't get anything to come up for "tech diver aquarius," must not have been a super popular model.

It's an Aquarius, "Tech Dive" is just marketing. There was a recall in 1977 for a clamp ring problem that could lead to flooding. But that one might be newer than that - the old Aquarius I know of was chrome/brass.

Just a suggestion for your next purchases, find someone you trust to help you out. $350 is way too much for a reg set that is 30 years old. Not that it may not be functional but for what you are spending you would get a much better and even new kit for what you are going to put into what you bought.

It's not just the reg set, it's also a BC and gauge console.

Have you bought it already? If not...

Compare it to these deals on new gear - it's almost a wash ($500) after you've paid for servicing the regs. Assuming the BC doesn't also need work - and is repairable. If it's the same vintage as the regs it will likely need a new inflator valve - and the bladder could leak also.

Aeris A1 with Aeris EX 100 BC and Gauges, and Octo reviews and discounts, Aeris

or a similar Tusa package:

or Mares for $50 more:

And you get full mfr's warranties at Scubatoys.

The BC's newer, but I haven't got it yet. Those deals do seem tempting, I'll see if I can swing some extra.

Where's the photo of the first stage and the gauges?

It may be a Calypso XLC top notch basic unbalanced piston reg nothing much to service
less than ten years old and if the bc is younger?

Sold a reg like it less than a year ago for about $300. Look at ebay.

What are you swinging, folding or gear.

A christmas present for your dad. What gear is acceptable to him. Would he like a mask and fins?

Hard to beat those packages.
