Don,

While your obsevation may be right on, to ask someone to fill out the profile and then negatively editorialize seems to be counter productive.
Besides, There may be worse ways to get experience than to work on certifications.

And no and have not filled out my profile, so you can now criticize me too.

From reading your other post, I know think I know you to be concerned for new divers, but how is this helpful?
Thanks for the interesting suggestion, but perhaps while this thread is more pointed, I don't think that suggesting our New To Scuba forum to anyone with less than 50 dives in a criticism. Just an extremely good suggestion, where they can learn things they might like to know.

BTW, you are welcome to post an Intro in that forum if you'd like, where we can welcome you properly. And if you happen to be new to Scuba, you might give that one a try? :ne_nau: I know, you've been a member for 4 months, but in our zeal to greet new members, we don't actually examin them closely. But glad to see your first post on the board.

You mean "Men of Honour" - brilliant film! I will be diving in one of those suits in S.Africa next week - a little worried, as it weighs a stone more than me, but hey! What an experience!
Thanks, that's the one. Hey, let us know how the dive was, would you? Sounds like a great ride.

Bryan

PS So nice to hear "stone" again. Some of my schooling (and some early theatre work) was in England, and to this day I still get a kick out of thinking in those terms. I'm ten stone.

Hey!

The dive was great, it was in the predator tank at "Two Oceans Aquarium" in South Africa. (http://www.aquarium.co.za)

The suit was VERY heavy and I honestly thought my collar bones were gonna snap when they were kitting me up, but I did actually manage to walk in it a bit - completly proved my instructor wrong! ;)

The guys told me afterwards they didn't think I'd be able to move at all so they were really impressed I had done. Though my hair got caught in the purge valve a few times (inside the helmet) and they kept offering to cut my hair off! Apparently they've never heard anyone laugh so much in one of those suits. I can't help it, all my friends were making faces at me and waving through the windows!

It was a fantastic experience, but not one I'd repeat in a hurry - it was VERY heavy!!

Amy.

P.S. Check out those great white sharks, from my cage dive! And there's a photo of me in the "copper hat" suit too - "Chinese Emperial Standard Dress" or something...! :) They're not of brilliant quality becuase they were taken on my phone, haven't had chance to get my proper photos developed yet.
