Hi everyone

I have been away diving in Thailand and trying my new Ikelite housing for my Sony 755E DVD camera. I have posted my video on the following address: Whale Shark Unplugged on Vimeo. This happened on my 14th dive and the second time I had my camera with me. I am only sorry I did not have my filter on the camera. I did not expect this graceful lady of the ocean to surprise us on a training dive.

Check it out and post some videos of your similar experiences.

I am hooked and I have booked a dive at Aliwal Shoal on the East Coast of South Africa for the end of July 2008

To Ikelite---Wow! your housing works like magic.

To all underwater videographers: "Earth sucks that's why we keep record of what's happening under the water"

That was a great video! Whale sharks are absolutely huge. The light filter would have cleared things up a little but I think it was great the way it is.

Awesome... thaks for sharing!

Thank you for posting your video. I'm even more excited now about my Cancun trip in mid August because I'm hoping to whale sharks when I'm there.

Again, thank you for sharing your video.

Magnificent creature and awesome video. Wouldn't you know, right in the middle of the encounter, someone's cellphone starts ringing.

Hi Marshallcarp

Thanks for your comments on my encounter with the whale shark. The cell phone was actually my dive computer going crazy. We were on a planned multilevel dive when this wonderful creature surprised us at about 20m. We swam with it for about 10 minutes, going quickly from 20m to 5 m and back to 15m and needless to say no one even heard it go off. It's only on the video that we realised that we messed up on our no-decompression time limits. My overwhelming feeling was that of being at peace watching the amazing gracefullness with which this creature moved among us.

Happy hunting for your underwater moments

Greetings Bill Skinner
