Anyone have direct experience with these? I live near their shop and am thinking about ordering a custom suit from them, but, in light of the price, I'd love some feedback from someone who dives one.

Well.............I love the suit that I got from them. It took them longer than promised, but the suit is great. I also believe that the rubatex is a superior neoprene. I have gone to mostly dry suit diving but my wetwear suit hangs waiting for me to do a warm water dive. It was expensive, and I got zippers as well so it was even more expensive.
My advice would be that if you are going to dive a lot, and want a great fitting suit with top of the line materials, but are willing to go through a few hassels to get it...wetwear will do. It's also maore expensive, but I've never skimped on dive gear. That's just my preference. So to sum up..great product, more expensive, and may have to wait.

In a nutshell, their customer service sucks.

First of all, let me preface by saying that we sent them suits to repair that were not theirs. However, we DID call them first & they authorized us to send them in.

Communications with them were always difficult. When we finally DID get feedback, it was always gruff & left the impression that we were imposing on them by trying to find out when our suits were going to be done. (Gave us one date, then another sort of thing.)

When the suits arrived back they were not repaired properly: they had put in new zippers without even sewing them in all the way!

And when we had to send them back because of THEIR mistake, WE had to pay for the shipping again!

I hear Liquid Fit has good customer service....

My best dive buddy got one from them several years ago and absolutely hated it!!! The material that they use does not compress and this makes it unbelievably stiff. He ended up selling it on ebay at a huge loss and got a Henderson Hyperstretch. I know for a fact that he loves this suit.

I can see where you want to purchase from a shop that is near you, but looks like a couple of folks have not have good luck.

I got a custom suit made by Aquaflite and really like it. I have also heard good things about liquidfit.
