ask your LDS about some zipper lube.
There are severl different kinds.
same stuff on dry or wet suits.

So far my wetsuits have done fine with just the normal post-dive freshwater rinse, and an occasional good washing out using baby shampoo.
YMMV, but I wouldn't sweat it too much.
