Not so pro tip...

When you buy your first wetsuit don't walk around the house with it on all day your puppy and wife will look at you weird. I told them I needed to practice putting it on and off and seeing if I would actually suffocate after an hour in it. Nothing. Just funny looks and laughing at me.

After the dejection I've decided against trying it out at the local pool. But that just leaves me with the bathtub.

I think the puppy is still pissed at me for getting him neutered. Sweet darling wife doesn't even know what's to come. Poor thing.

Always always always wear a lycra skin and socks when you put on a wetsuit. The difference between wearing it wet or dry will be minimized, and it will go on and come off much more easily.

+1 on the lycra skin. I don't have the socks though I might look into it. I just wish the zipper on the skin went a little lower then my navel.

Things get real awkward when you start trying on condom catheters for your drysuit p-valve.

Just make sure you keep a few extra large ones in your kit so when you dive buddy asks if you have any extras, you can give him one of those.

I like to multitask my equipment. Instead of a full body lycra suit I use lycra rash guard long sleeve top and shorts. That way I can use the tops on vacation in the swimming pool with my kids as well. Instead of expensive shorts I've been using Under Armor or Russell brand compression shorts. Much cheaper than the brand name scuba shorts.

+1 on lycra socks, work a treat

I knew I wasn't the only one. Dive computer this week. BCD next week and I'm ready for the water. Gunna hire regs (and tanks) until I find a reg I like. Yays!

Lycra you say. Hmmmm.
