Hey, www.leisurepro.com is selling a "Coldwater wetsuit package" for $169.00 Contents are:
• Aqua " Sink The Stink" 1/2 oz.
• Aquaseal/McNett Wet Suit Shampoo 8 oz.
• Blue Reef 5MM Mens Dive Boots with Zipper 10
• Blue Reef 5MM Mens Glove with Velcro Band Medium
• Blue Reef 6.5MM Neoprene Hood Large
• Farmer John & Jacket 7.mm Mens Wetsuit Medium
• Super Wetsuit Hanger
Does anyone have any experience with any of these brands, or does anyone think it is worth buying? I'm a beginer, and don't need top of the line stuff, but I will be diving the coldwater lakes of New England. Thanks!

Well that sure is a lot of stuff for the $$

I have to believe you get what you pay for here. The likelihood of getting a good fit on those items in a mailorder setting is low. Fit is everything in a wetsuit. Stitched and glued can mean a lot of things. It probably is not double glued and double blind stitched.

As a fellow New England diver I can tell you that you won't need to go too deep in many lakes to be colder than the ocean in the summer, so don't cut corners on your exposure protection.

If it looks too good to be true......

Pete

I have a pair of Blue Reef booties and a pair of Blue Reef gloves and am very happy with both.

Here is what I have accumulated for alpine lake (38+) to Carribean (80+) diving
3/2mm Full Hyperstretch suit (Tilos)
3mm Farmer John Set (Oceanic?)
7mm Full Non-Hyperstretch :( (???? would have to look)
7/5mm Hyperstretch Hood (Henderson)
Reef gloves (Blue Reef)
3mm Goves
5mm Gloves (Blue Reef)
7mm Gloves
3mm and 6mm Boots (Blue Reef)

With this variety I can pretty much mixs and match enough for almost any temp. But I sure wish I had spent more on the 7mm and gone Hyperstretch for comfort and flexibility.

Fit is the most important. I got lucky with ordering most items and having them fit.
Good luck...

Ayuh, that there sounds like a uh wicked sweet deal, for showah :D .
But all joking aside, I hope it fits. LP has always been good to me, but for stuff that needs to be fitted, call LP find out which brand the Suit is, then go to your LDS, see the suit and SIZE IT! And for the love of GAWD, don't mention that you're buying anything online, just don't go there!! LDS's get really touchy about this :bigun2: :bash: !!
