Dive and Surf (located in Hermosa Beach, CA) is the creator of Body Glove. I don't know if they still make them here (in CA) or outsource them, but the company is a U.S. company. I have tried them on (but usually just dive in warm water utilizing a shorty) and they are comfortable and stand up to a lot of wear.

Greetings Pegger, and congratulations on purchasing your first wet suit. I was certified in a rented Bare Velocity 7/6 the suit fit very well and was warm in 50 degree water. The Bare Elastek full is a nice suit. One thing that is cool about Bare is their size chart, they can fit a suit for most any body configuration. I own a Bare Tech dry trilam, it is a great dry suit and I got a awesome deal on it! I would not be afraid of a Bare at all. Personally I dive Pinnacle 7mm Elastiprene with Merino wool, along with a Merino hooded 5/3 vest. I love that suit. It has served me well. The new Pinnacle Kodiak with Merino is my new pick. This suit is warm, flexible, and for what you are getting not a bad value! If you can try both on and see for your self what you like best. Good luck! CamG Keep diving....keep training....keep learning!

I purchased a 7mm tommyDsport farmer John for $129 and the zipper fell apart as I was getting ready for my third dive. I bought cheap thinking I would move to a dry suit soon. It was sooner then I planned. Why not rent before you buy?

Can't say "I have heard nothing but good from others that have ordered from these guys either" now
