I have been using 5mm Pinnacle wetsuit boots for years and have liked them. As I’ve been shopping for new fins, everything I try with a closed toe ends up with my toes hitting the end of the foot pocket and the rest of the pocket around my feet being a little loose. I dove in XT fins today and enjoyed them except for the looseness. My feet should be the high side for the fin size and springs are tight. I wear a 14 but my feet are narrow and thin. I’m thinking a beefier boot with a thicker sole would solve this and I wouldn’t mind the protection anyway. Any suggestions for me?

The Poseidon 'oneshoe' perhaps.

I actually thought those Poseidon boots were more like rock boots, I’ll add them to my list!

Anyone have experience with either of these for my needs?

I also have narrow feet and I have a pair of Seac 5mm boots and use them in my Mares Quattro Avanti fins and really like them. Best Seac Basic HD 5mm Boots with Side Zipper for Sale | Divers Supply

That’s very helpful, thanks! I like that Seac design.

I am changing from the Go Sport fins with an open toe to the XT fins with a closed toe. The XT fit me better than some, but everything with a closed toe is the same with my toes hitting the end and the rest of the pocket is sloppy. My dry suit rock boots fit plenty snug, but those are oversized for neoprene socks. I think a more substantial wet boot will fix my problems.

Perhaps, booties with thick felt soles could help? I know Sea Sports and IST have some.

Cressi ARAs have a narrowest foot pocket IME. I put Ortholites in my booties and use a-size-smaller fins.

If you have the budget for them, you could try Force Fins.

I thought about trying inserts as well but wasn’t sure how well they would hold up. I’ll check out those Cressi too. Appreciate it!

If you go too beefy especially those with the unnecessary rubber around the sides the boot may not fit in the fin

Fourth element boots come with an extra pair of insoles and a very beefy sole

I second the suggestion of fourth element. I have been diving with them for years.
I am not sure how they would work with the XT fins. I use the OMS Slipstream and it is a great combo for me
