Wet Suit Question?

Have a question just got a aqua lung flex wet suit and when i try to zip the back up the zipper gets caught in this itty bitty knick on the interior part of the suit. Can I trim this stuff away so it wont get caught in it?

I had the same problem with my wet suit and did it. I have had no problems so far....

I mean it wont make it not seal or anything?
