I am heading to Playa in february and would like some wet suit recommendations. I have a 3mm full suit, and was thinking about getting a 1mm suit to bring.

I usually dive in a 3/2 shorty down there, but plenty of people use 3mm fulls. You won't be too hot in that.

When I was there at the end of November my 3mm was more than fine, some were diving in shorts and t shirts.

The 3 mil full is perfect. You can get by with less, but, you may chill between dives. Esp. if you have little body fat. I saw shorties and skins and all were shivering. Some DM's wear 7 mil full. Use the 3 mil

I dive in a 3mil suit in Cozumel the year round and have made several dives in Playa. I also use a hood but I'm cold natured and I stay very comfortable especially on the second dive.

If you get warn in your suit unzip and let in a little water. My wife dives in skin and a 3 mil shorty and never gets cold.

Thanks for the help. i was thinking about using the 1mm for eairler in the week and the 3mm later and for the fresh water cenotes dive. I may just go with the 3mm.

I just got back from there. Water temp varied from 79 to 81 degrees. 3MM suit was perfect. The Cenotes tend to be around 75 degrees. Also 3mm worked well.

Have fun
