Hey-

Got certified through SSI in '95 as a JR diver, dad blew out his ear drums with a dry suit in the police department shortly after our trip to Cozumel to dive so I couldn't dive anymore. 9 years later I'm living in FL and scheduled a one on one type deal to get myself reoriented and back underwater. Bought most of the basic gear (everything but the *big stuff* like tank, computer, regulators) and looking to start meeting up with some divers in the west palm area. Would be interested in some Sunday dives mostly. When not scuba diving, i'll be jumping out of airplanes.

Check out the Fl Conch Diver's section--we've been pretty active lately, and don't be shy about hopping in on some dives that interest you!

Are you recertifying or just taking a refresher?

I'm actually doing a sort of refresher, things worked out well... my sister wants to try the discover scuba thing (she's living in MD and not in a financial position to start expensive hobbies ) and i've wanted to get back into the sport. I talked to the instructor via a local dive shop and we're doing 1/2 day in the pool then two boat dives. I'll get the refresher training as well as some "hold my hand" ocean dives, as well as get to be underwater with my sister. good stuff all around. I'll be good to go after aug 15, i know our dives are an afternoon trip out of boca i believe.

know any good sources for picking up used dive computers/tanks/regulators? i've got everything else, but i'm very leery about ebay, etc.
