I am glad to see the the more "skilled team" won over the more "goon team". I liked Calgary, and they had a great playoff run, but they really played a mug'em style (ala their coach). They have some very good players, but they have some borderline criminals. The young stars on Tampa Bay really showed some skill and some heart.
To me it is always encouraging to see the "team" win over the organizations that try to buy a winner (unlike in baseball). It was great to see Minnesota do so well a couple years ago with a smaller payroll. Thank god the game is played on ice rather than on paper, or else no one would have been able to beat Colorado this year.
It would be nice to see teams recognize the trends and stop paying so many excess millions to the "stars" driving costs up so much. I would like to be able to afford to go to more games each year, but I have to save for dive vacations!
Also I am very happy for Dave Andreychuk (sp?) this year's Ray Bourque.
Just my few shots at the net,
