weight belts or integrated weights?

For most of my diving:

  • All my weights are on my weight belt.

Well... I do several things... since I dive wet to dry, tropical waters to 43 degrees.

Long story short I use weight pockets with my BP/W, sometimes a harness, sometimes tank weights, sometimes some in my drysuit pockets, depending whether I am diving wet or dry or with steel 120's or AL80's.

Additionally, it now depends on whether I am in open water or a cave (one really doesn't want any drop weights in a cave... being plastered to the roof isn't a plan).
 
I have slipped disc in my back and the belt puts the weight lower than the bad discs. I can also hand the belt to someone on the boat then climb up with less weight.
