Patience. Most fish are basically inquisitive so once they get used to your presence, they'll come to you out of curiosity. This guy could see himself in the lens, I guess, 'cause he kept coming back for more. One advantage of shore dives is you have time to wait for fish and critters to get used to you!
 
i've found in my limited experience that Dee is absolutely right. if you move,
they get jittery. if you let them come to you, they tend to try to figure out
what you are.
