so i'll be down in PDC getting my marriage on.. staying in a hotel in PDC... gonna do some diving (along with a few friends)... I've been looking at a TON of threads on here... with ppl recommending dive ops in PDC and dive shops in COZ... I'm very undecided on who to dive with. Taking in price and convenience..

1. Most PDC shops i've seen charge an average of 50 per tank diving in PDC.. and 60 per tank diving in COZ.. this does not include the ferry to COZ.... so even on the low side.. 120 for 2 tank and 26 roundtrip ferry... 146.

2. On the recommendation on alot of ppl and their perfect rating on trip advisor... i was quoted 60 for a 2 tank dive...+ ferry roundtrip (26 bucks) from tres pelicanos on COZ....86 total.

seems a little too good to be true? why the huge difference in price?

After more reading on the forums... Akumel sounds like a good spot to do a few dives.. as well as a cenote or two...

Check out Tank Ha. Dove with them for two separate weeks about 5 years ago. Probably about 65 for two tank dive now. AND they have a fast dive boat to Coz which is better than the ferry. Also did cenotes with them. Great operation.

this is from their website for COZ diving. Cozumel Direct Diving 1 person 2 tanks$125usd

Akumal, 30 miles south, has 2 dive shops, is in the heart of the best cenotes, and will provide ocean dives at about $30.00 per tank. (Cenote dives more if you choose to do them). It beats the heck out of PDC in my book, even if you have to commute down every day.

Whale shark will move away in 10 days. In November you can dive with bull shark

we did the whale shark thing last time we were in mexico... although i wouldn't mind doing a dive/snorkel in holbok....
