According to an article in the Daily Breeze we were supposed to get ten to twelve feet waves beginning today. Since we were blown out last weekend we were expecting Depression Sickness. That's what happens when you miss two consecutive weekends. Merry checked out the beach cameras this morning and said we could sneak out. I called Kevin Lee and he was willing to risk the drive from behind the Orange Curtain for a chance to get in some diving.
Between the wind, swells and throttle problems we only made one dive, but the algae was blooming with nudibranchs today. Merry and Kevin enjoyed the 51° water while I barely notice it with dry gloves on. We didn't find anything out of the ordinary, including Walter Marti's GoPro that somehow jumped from his rig yesterday. Maybe conditions and mechanical problems will be better by next week.

Love the little white and orange guy - is that a Doto?

For now it's Doto amyra, but Dr. Jeff Goddard is working with other experts to reclassify it. They are calling it Doto Form A until further notice.
