Hello. I'll be headed to Coz next Thursday. The weather forcast has been saying "chance of showers." What is the general practice for drive ops in the rain? Do they still take people out in light rain? Thanks!

Yes - you will get wet anyway :)

That's kind of what I was thinking but wasn't sure if they operated the boats in foul weather. I guess that has more to do with wind than rain?

Does rain affect visibility much in Coz?

As long as the port is open, the pool is open as well. Take for instance my recent trip June 22 - July 1. Weather predictions were calling for rain/thunderstorms which with the arrival of Tropical storm Alex came true. We had a few days of light to heavier rain with mild to rougher seas and we still went diving. Current was very mild to one day and only the second dive fast. Visibility was Good to excellent ! Overall, we had a fantastic time. Have a geat time on your trip!

One morning last Ar the weather wasn't looking so good. :( We were all hoping to get in the water before the storm hit which we did. Had a great 2 tank dive but the storm dumped enough rain to flood a lot of the roads to include areas around my hotel. Better to be under the surface having a great time than on land dealing with a thunderstorm. :D

The water is actually warmer than the rain that hits you on the way out to your dives so no worries. It's really cool to look upward and see the rain pelting the surface when you are on safety stops etc....
Enjoy your trip and safe bubbles to you....
