The object, believed to be a possible live mortar, was found about 330 metres south of Darwin's East Arm barge

Does the Australian Navy have access to a saturation diving systems and EOD trained sat divers? Planting explosives with a ROV to clear it makes a lot more sense than trying to defuse and recover it in water that deep.

I think it's located 330 meters from a particular location, not 330 meters deep. The video in the story clearly has someone breathing OC filming the mortar and based on the light, it looks pretty shallow.
