there is no such thing as a "waterproof" case. Only cases that will not leak up to a certain depth.

What are you trying to protect, and to what depth?

another thing that can work well is an old dive light if you happen to have one the right size or can find one cheap. With lots of people moving to smaller and better LED lights probably lots of unloved C and D cell halogen/xenon lights in closets.
 
Is what you have bigger than a GoPro camera? I can't tell you what size that is because GoPro only lists weights not dimensions on their specifications pages.
