Any one have an idea as to what would be a safe water dispersant on an acrylic dome port? I am going ot do some surf work so the camera will be dunked repeatedly and then need to shed spots for clear shots. The sand in the water will not allow for wiping.
I have been told to avoid rain x. I am thinking a good layer of dishsoap but not sure.
Thanks,
Erik

You might be able to use pure carnuba paste wax. Do NOT put Rain-X or anything like that on plastic lenses, domes, ports etc.

I use pledge furniture polish, the waxy content repels water droplet quite well, its safe for the acrylic dome (take my manufacturing word for it), the only things is, it does not last forever, so you might have to "repolish" the dome with it once in a while during the day.

... it will also smell lemonly fresh :D
