Okay folks, wqith the currency exchange heading to parody, the bank, (a.k.a the wife) has given me the go ahead to finally get my strobe. The only problem is that she's imposed a cap on the amount I can spend.

So if you have one of the following used strobes for and want to sell it, give me a shout woth your asking price.

Inon D2000
Sea and Sea YS-110
Inon Z240

The last time I posted, some folks who were on the business sent me messages asking of I would consider buying new. To those folks, I would ask that they consider the following as price benchmarks to beat.

YS-110
I can get a NEW YS-110 for 500.00 (shipping, duty included) from eBay. So as it sits, that is my fallback vendor.

Z240
I can get a NEW Z240 for 600.00 (shipping, duty included) from eBay. So as it sits, that is my fallback vendor.

D-2000
This one's the strobe that I would view as my last choice as it cannnot be cable fired, and will limit my future equioment expansion, but if the price is right it'll do. The best price I've gotten on this one was from an online retailer at 498.00 (shipping and duties extra.)

There is a tme limit on this one. I've got the go ahead to make a purchase this week and next after that I'll ahave to go back to the boss er.. wife.

So folks, who has what and for how much. Feel free to post your strobe here os contact via PM.

Thanks.

If this request doesn't work for you Storm and you are not in a big hurry (whoops...sorry...just read your post again), I would suggest keeping an eye on Ebay.

I wanted to get a 2nd Inon strobe for my rig and after about 3 months I found one and purchased it for ~ $200.00 less than any other place that I looked....for something that was equal to the D180.

Granted, I wanted a D180 and not one of the latest (newest) strobes, so I was more likely to run across one eventually.

......just a suggestion and good luck with your search!

sorry to hijack, but may I ask where you found a D2000 for $498 + shipping?

An online dealer out of Tiawan called www.divervision.com

Withot knowing what system you have.....if it is SLR you should only look for Inon Z240 Z220....the others are not good !

I am not shooting film, and know of very few who still are so I am assuming that you meant DSLR?

My current system is;

a Canon A95 and Canon A80 (Backup)
Canon WPDC-900 housing
Inon DII Grip
Fantasea Arms
Inon Lens Adapter
Inon Wide angle, and macro wet lenses.

I shoot primary up here in Canada, so in murky green water, so a strobe with a wide angle beam, strong output and as close to 5500 K as possible. I also do the vacation thing down south every 2 years so I do need options that will allow me to dial down the output for those clear blue water dives.

I have not, until now heard any bad reviews of the YS-110, and know that the lack of sync cable options on the D-2000, hence it's last choice selection.

The Z240 looks like a great strobe, and one that would grow with me as I eventually move into the DSLR market, but it IS a bit cost prohibitive at the moment; unless a real good deal happens by.

You mention that the YS-110 is not a good strobe, can you elaborate?

Hi, you are right I meant to say Digital SLR. The D200 and YS110 unless I'm wrong are perfect for a small Digital point and shoot....not dSLR

If you are eventually getting into the dSLR world....buy something good now....I have Inon 220 and they are hard top get....but also have excellent results with the YS-90X in a good day you can get one of these babies on ebay for $250 !

Hope this helps !

Not to sound contrary, but is not the YS-110 the newer model and replace for the YS-90? If so how does the YS-110 sufer in comparison to the YS-90. I guess I'm a bit perplexed.
